Fraxpeel
Fraxpeel combines two effective procedures of fractional laser and chemical peel, ensuring even better clinical results in smoothing your skin. The Ellipse Frax 1550 laser works by heating tissues and intensifying collagen production in the skin. The result is firmer, fresher skin. Pigmentation spots and wrinkles are reduced, pores become smaller, acne scars are reduced.

How does the procedure work?
The Ellipse Frax 1550 is a fractional non-ablative laser, which means that the laser does not damage the skin, or "punch a hole", as stronger lasers do. This makes the procedure more comfortable and less painful compared to deeper lasers and the recovery is much faster.
First, the skin is treated with a fractional laser. After that, a chemical peel is applied to the skin. Depending on the skin type and the problem, both stronger and weaker chemical solutions can be chosen. Applying a peel to skin that has been prepared beforehand with a fractional laser ensures a deeper-acting and more effective treatment, which means better results in a single procedure.
Procedure is recommended to be carried out during winter time (autumn-winter).
After the procedure, there may be redness and a sunburn sensation, which will pass within a few hours. After a few days, the skin may begin to peel. The intensity of the peeling depends on the chemical peel used. The skin will be drier and will need additional moisturizing during a week. The final result is a brighter, more even complexion, reduced pore size and a smoother texture.
The procedure is preceded by a consultation where the specialist takes a thorough medical history, examines the patient's medical condition, previous procedures and the medication used.
The skin is cleansed before the procedure.
The next step is for the specialist to set the laser to the appropriate settings and set up the cooling machine, which helps to cool the skin during the procedure and reduce the sensation of heat on the skin.
To prevent the laser beam from getting into the eyes, special darkening goggles are used during the procedure.
The specialist will then start the laser treatment.
Depending on the skin and the concern, 1 or more layers of the chosen chemical peel is applied and the procedure is finished with cool compresses.
After the procedure, the specialist applies a soothing cream and a sunscreen, if necessary.

- We do not perform the procedure during antibiotic treatment, 2 weeks must have passed since the last medication.
- If you are taking any medication, please let us know before coming for the procedure.
- We do not perform the procedure when you have active infections such as cold sores, acne, rosacea.
- Discontinue the use of retinol and AHA/BHA products at least 3-5 days before the procedure. Resume use once the skin has recovered from the procedure.

- The procedure is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
After the procedure
- Redness, swelling, skin sensitivity, bruising may occur after the procedure and last for several days after the procedure.
- After a few days, the skin may begin to peel. The intensity of the peeling depends on the chemical peel used. The skin will be drier and will need additional moisturizing during a week.
- You should not drink alcohol for 24 hours.
- Avoid sauna, hot bath or spa treatments for 2 weeks.
- Do not use make-up products for 24 hours.
- Do not exercise for 2 days.
- During 4 weeks, protect the area from UV light (use sunscreen SPF50). Sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours. If you work indoors, sit away from windows. Be mindful of how often you step outside.
- Avoid self tanning products for two weeks after the procedure.
- To reduce the sensation of burning, you can keep a cold compress on your skin (only from the fridge, not the freezer).
- To soothe the burning sensation and restore the skin, a moisturizing cream should be used (depending on the skin type, e.g. Cicaplast Baume, Eucerin Aquaphor, Silkses etc.) until the skin has recovered (moisturize at least 2 times a day, more if necessary). For acne-prone skin, we recommend La Roche Posay Effaclar H cream during the skin's recovery period.
- To moisturize and soothe the skin, thermal water spray (e.g. Avene, La Roche Posay) is also very effective.
- If swelling occurs antihistamines (anti-allergy medication, e.g. Zyrtec, Claritine) can be used.
- The "pattern" left on the skin by the laser will disappear after about 1 week, but in some cases will last longer.
- Avoid other professional treatments for 2 weeks (laser procedures, beauty injections, chemical peels, etc).
- If done by course, the next procedure can be done after 4 weeks.
- To prolong the results of treatments, it is important to use sunscreen on the face all year round.

Questions?
We have answers
What do I expect after the procedure? How much recovery time do I need?
Immediately after the procedure, you may experience redness, swelling and skin sensitivity (sensation similar to sunburn). The swelling is generally under the eyes or on the cheeks, in rare cases the whole face can be swollen. The swelling usually lasts for 1-3 days, very rarely up to 1 week. The peeling of the skin usually starts after two days and lasts up to 1 week.
Should I moisturize after a photopeel procedure?
After the procedure, your skin may feel tight, dry, and itchy. Since your skin's protective barrier is temporarily compromised until the healing process is complete, applying a hydrating moisturizer recommended by your specialist can help alleviate the dry and itchy feeling.
Avoiding the urge to scratch an itch or to pull a layer of dead skin can be extremely difficult but also extremely important. Manipulating the skin's natural healing process can result in infections and harm the skin's new, healthy layers.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure usually takes between 1 and 1.5 hours. On the first visit a thorough consultation is added, then the procedure may take longer.
