How does the procedure work?
Fotona 4D is a combination of two different laser wavelengths (Nd:Yag and Er:Yag). The procedure consists of 4 different steps (SMOOTH, FRAC3, PIANO, SupErficial), each working at different skin depths to tighten the skin from inside out.
As a result of the procedure, skin elasticity improves, facial contours are enhanced, skin tone is evened out and the skin becomes smoother already after the first procedure.
Overall skin will be fuller and firmer, wrinkles and lines will be reduced with a more even skin tone and healthy, youthful glow.
The Fotona 4D stages consist of:
Step 1: Smooth
Fotona 4D starts inside the mouth, where laser energy is used to immediately kick start the tightening process around the jawline and perioral region. This step will also reduce expression lines like the nasolabial folds and wrinkles, much like a filler, but naturally.
Step 2: FRAC3
Next, to complement the intraoral treatment, deeper imperfections (like deep lines) and pigments are precisely targeted to restore a youthful texture and more uniform overall complexion.
Step 3: PIANO
In step three, a brushing technique is used to safely and rapidly apply heating to create an overall tightening effect, resulting in more firm and lifted skin.
Step 4: Superficial
Lastly, a light laser peel is done to improve the appearance of the skin and address surface-level imperfections. You’ll immediately notice that your skin looks refreshed, tighter, and you will enjoy a youthful glow!
During your Treatment:
Your treatment begins with a consultation, where a specialist will take a thorough medical history, inquire about your health, past tan and any medications used.
The skin is cleansed before the procedure.
The next step is for the specialist to set the laser to the appropriate settings and set up a cooling machine to help cool the skin and reduce the sensation of heat during the procedure.
To prevent the laser beam from getting into the eyes, special darkening goggles are used during the procedure.
The specialist will then start the laser treatment, treating the skin with several different wavelengths.
After the procedure, the specialist applies a soothing cream and, if necessary, a sunscreen.
The procedure is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Results
Appear
You will see some minor improvements within a week of treatment, but full results will begin to show after 4 weeks as the recommended treatment course progresses and new collagen and elastin growth is achieved.
Depending on the desired result, a specialist may recommend up to 3 procedures at 4-week intervals. For a more intense effect, it is possible to perform the last step (laser peeling) at higher settings in which case a slightly longer recovery time must be taken into account.
Remain
We recommend repeating the procedure after 9-12 months.
Recovery time: 1 day - 1 week

Questions?
We have answers
Why is the inside of the mouth treated?
The mucosal tissue found on the inside of the mouth can tolerate much higher energy and heat levels. For example, many of us can enjoy a hot cup of tea straight from the pot, with little to no discomfort to the inside of our mouths. However, that same cup of tea if spilled on our hand or arm can result in pain or injury. So, by stimulating collagen production on the inside as well as the outside, we can achieve tissue tightening comfortably and at a much higher level.
What side effects might I experience post-procedure?
You may feel warm and tingly after the treatment. Immediately after the treatment, the skin may be red, slightly swollen and irritated. Sometimes skin starts to flake after a few days.
If you can’t afford a recovery period of several days, you can skip the last stage (laser peeling) of the treatment. In such a case, you will be able to resume daily activities practically on the second day after treatment.
