How does the procedure work?
The laser procedure uses two wavelengths of light energy: Q-switched YAG and Q-switched KTP, which treat both superficial and deep pigmentation. The Q-switch laser works in a similar way to tattoo removal, with nanosecond pulses directed at the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. As a result, the pigment is broken down and exits the body through the lymphatic system.
The procedure is well tolerated.
During your Treatment:
Your treatment begins with a consultation, where a specialist will take a thorough medical history, inquire about your health, past tan and any medications used.
The skin is cleansed before the procedure.
The next step is for the specialist to set the laser to the appropriate settings and set up a cooling machine to help cool the skin and reduce the sensation of heat during the procedure.
To prevent the laser beam from getting into the eyes, special darkening goggles are used during the procedure.
The specialist will then start the laser treatment, treating the skin with several different wavelengths.
After the procedure, the specialist applies a soothing cream and a sunscreen, if necessary.

Questions?
We have answers
How do I choose between IPL pigmentation and Green toning?
As a first time client who has not had pigment removal before, we recommend starting with an IPL pigmentation treatment. If the pigment is dark (i.e. superficial), recovery is faster with IPL.
If you've had one IPL procedure and would like to treat the pigment further, we recommend Green toning procedure for the second time.
How long is the recovery time?
After the procedure there may be some redness, swelling, which usually subsides in a few hours. The following day, there may be some slight redness. Some spots of pigmentation may turn blue and remain so for up to 7 days.
