How does the procedure suit You?
The procedure is suitable if you have redness, flushing and enlarged blood vessels on your face.
Redness
How does the procedure work?
The most common skin problems that appear as redness are rosacea and couperose. With IPL treatment, we can safely and effectively relieve redness and flushing. IPL light flashes cause the capillaries to contract, stimulating the production of collagen, which strengthens the walls of blood vessels. When the pulsed light that is emitted is absorbed by the hemoglobin in a vessel, the vessel collapses. In turn, small broken vessels disappear over time and overall redness is reduced.
It is important to understand that rosacea and couperose are chronic and cannot be completely cured, but IPL treatment can alleviate and control skin changes.
In order to achieve results, it is necessary to undergo a course of IPL treatment, which consists of 3 to 5 procedures (depending on the extent of the problem). A minimum of 4 weeks between treatments is required, so it may take several months for the final result to be visible. Already after the first procedure, an improvement in the condition of the skin is noticeable - the sensation of soreness and pain is reduced and the skin becomes smoother.
After a successful course of treatment, redness is significantly reduced or completely gone and is usually under control for about 1-2 years. As the problem is internal and caused by weakness of the blood vessel walls, redness can return due to external factors and unhealthy lifestyle. Therefore, lifestyle and proper daily skin care are also important in keeping the problem under control.
In addition to treating redness, IPL can also be used to treat red scars, caused by surgery or trauma.
The procedure is preceded by a consultation where the specialist takes a thorough medical history, examines the patient's medical condition, previous procedures and the medication used.
The skin is cleansed before the procedure.
The next step is for the specialist to set the IPL to the appropriate settings and set up the cooling machine, which helps to cool the skin during the procedure and reduce the sensation of heat on the skin.
To prevent the IPL beam from getting into the eyes, special darkening goggles are used during the procedure.
The specialist will then start the treatment.
After the procedure, the specialist applies a soothing cream and a sunscreen, if necessary.

Questions?
We have answers
What causes rosacea and broken capillaries?
Rosacea and broken capillaries are often caused by genetic factors, environmental triggers, and lifestyle choices. Rosacea, a chronic skin condition, is characterized by redness and visible blood vessels. It can be aggravated by sun exposure, hot baths, sauna, stress, spicy foods, and alcohol. Broken capillaries, or spider veins, occur when tiny blood vessels near the skin’s surface become damaged. This can result from sun damage, temperature extremes, and physical trauma. Using gentle skincare products, wearing sunscreen, and avoiding known triggers can help manage rosacea and prevent broken capillaries.
Is IPL treatment painful?
You will feel discomfort, often described as a snapping sensation. You might feel uncomfortable and hot, but it is perfectly tolerable. Clients have often noted that the light flash is more unpleasant than the sensation of heat that occurs during the procedure. During the procedure, we also use a cooling system to reduce the discomfort as much as possible and take breaks if necessary.
What skin reactions can be expected after IPL treatment?
Skin with a lot of redness and capillaries reacts more intensely and we warn clients that more severe swelling and rarely bruising may occur. Bruising occurs when the blood vessel wall is very fragile and breaks as a result of the pulse. The swelling and bruising can last for several days after the procedure, especially after the first procedure.
When do I start seeing results?
With your first and subsequent IPL treatments, improvement is most noticeable starting about two weeks after the procedure. You’ll see the greatest results after 3 to 6 months if you do a series of IPL treatments spaced out about a month apart for each session. We schedule your procedures one month apart because skin cells turn over every 30 days. This gives your skin time to recover and produce naturally skin-smoothing collagen, which is one of the great advantages of IPL therapy.
Can pigmentation be removed permanently?
After a successful course of treatment, redness is significantly reduced or completely gone and is usually under control for about 1-2 years. As the problem is internal and caused by weakness of the blood vessel walls, redness can return due to external factors and unhealthy lifestyle. Therefore, lifestyle and proper daily skin care are also important in keeping the problem under control. As well as making necessary lifestyle changes, be prepared to repeat the procedure at least once or twice a year.
